December 2006 stock estimate on overseas Filipinos The 2006 stock estimate of overseas Filipinos by the Commission on
Filipinos Overseas has three categories, namely: Permanent immigrants or
legal permanent residents abroad whose stay do not depend on work
contracts; temporary or persons whose stay overseas is related to job
contracts and the irregular or those without valid residence or work
permits, or those who are overstaying in a foreign country.
Guide to Learning Filipino
- This publication is a teaching and learning material intended for
organizations and groups overseas interested to teach the Filipino
language to children of overseas Filipinos and other individuals who
would like to learn basic or conversational Filipino. The lessons are
culture-based and intended to pave the way toward better understanding
of the Philippines and its people.

this handbook to provide Filipinos overseas with information on a wide
range of policies, programs, and activities of the Philippine government
affecting Filipinos abroad and returning Filipinos. It also provides
information on a number of programs through which Filipinos overseas can
actively participate in the realization of the Philippine development
agenda.
Labor agreements between RP and Canadian provinces The Department of Labor and Employment has signed separate but
similar labor agreements with the labor and immigration departments of
the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Manitoba
providing for the deployment of skilled Filipino workers.

Operations Manual (5th Edition) -
The Lingkod sa Kapwa Filipino [Link for Philippine Development] or
LINKAPIL Operations Manual addresses the information needs of Filipinos
and other donors overseas concerning the transfer of various forms of
assistance to the Philippines. It provides direction to donors, as well
as beneficiaries in the Philippines, on the procedures and requirements
in the processing of material donations from overseas.
List of cancelled and delisted agencies
POEA has come out with a list of 26 recruitment agencies whose licenses
were canceled for violating recruitment laws and 11 agencies that failed
to renew their license and comply with the conditions for the grant of
license. These agencies cannot recruit land-based and sea-based workers
for overseas employment.

and Regulations for Philippine Schools Overseas
- This publication provides
policy guidelines and specific rules and regulations for the
establishment, accreditation, operation, and management of elementary
and secondary schools in accordance with existing laws, the Memorandum
of Agreement of 24 February 1995 establishing the Inter-Agency Committee
on Philippine Schools Abroad, and
Executive Order No. 252
dated 5 May 2000 establishing the Inter-Agency Committee on Philippine
Schools Overseas.

Overseas employment scams Job seekers, interested in overseas employment that promises high
pay, good benefits, free travel adventure, should be aware that there
are unscrupulous operators who have devised elaborate and very
convincing scams to bilk unwitting, and often desperate applicants.
